How to Verify Your IP Address with BrowserScan

After setting up NinjaProxy, how do you confirm it's working? BrowserScan is a free tool that shows your IP address, browser fingerprint, and anonymity status in seconds.

How to Verify Your IP Address with BrowserScan

After setting up a proxy, it's important to verify that your connection is actually routing through the proxy server and that your real IP address is hidden. BrowserScan is a free online tool that makes this verification quick and easy — showing you your current IP address, location, browser fingerprint, and whether any anonymity leaks are detected.

What is BrowserScan?

BrowserScan (browserscan.net) is a browser analysis tool that reveals the information your browser exposes to the websites you visit. In addition to your IP address and geographic location, it shows your browser fingerprint data including:

  • IP address and location (country, city, ISP)
  • Browser type, version, and user agent string
  • Operating system and device information
  • Screen resolution and color depth
  • Time zone and language settings
  • WebRTC leak detection
  • DNS leak detection

For proxy users, the most important check is whether your real IP address is visible and whether any WebRTC or DNS leaks are exposing your true location.

How to Set Up NinjaProxy and Verify with BrowserScan

1

Get your proxy credentials. Log in to your NinjaProxy dashboard and note down your proxy server's IP address, port number, username, and password.

2

Configure your proxy. Set up the proxy in your browser, scraping tool, or application. For browser setup, use your browser's network/proxy settings to enter the IP address, port, and authentication credentials.

3

Visit BrowserScan. With your proxy active, navigate to browserscan.net in your browser. The page will immediately show your current IP address and location as seen by the website.

Verify Your Anonymity with BrowserScan

Once on BrowserScan, check the following:

  • IP Address: Should show the proxy server's IP, not your real IP.
  • Location: Should reflect the proxy server's location, not your actual location.
  • ISP: Should show the proxy provider, not your home ISP.
  • WebRTC Leak: Should show "No leak detected." If WebRTC is leaking, disable WebRTC in your browser settings.
  • DNS Leak: DNS requests should resolve through the proxy, not your local ISP's DNS servers.

If all checks pass, your proxy is working correctly and your real IP address is hidden.

Pick the Right Proxy for Your Needs

NinjaProxy offers five proxy types to suit different anonymity and performance needs:

For maximum anonymity on BrowserScan and similar tools, residential and mobile proxies will show the most convincing real-user profiles. Datacenter IPs may show as "datacenter" under the ISP field on some tools, which is normal behavior.
